This ongoing commitment led to our B Corp certification in early 2023. As one of the themes in its mission statement, EPHOTO has embarked on a journey to reduce and offset its CO2 emissions. The commitment and sensitivity to environmental and other issues officially began in November 2021 with the official transition to a Benefit Corporation. The company moved to 100% renewable energy in May 2022 and offset the emissions generated by office activities in 2021 in December 2022. This process is repeated every year in collaboration with Renovit (an energy service company whose aim is to contribute to the country’s energy transition): characterized by an initial phase of analysis and identification of the main sources of emissions associated with the activities and calculation of the environmental impact in terms of CO2 equivalents. The impact of the emissions generated in 2022 was quantified and then, through the carbon offsetting mechanism, the decision was made to support “The Project: 50 MW Wind Power Project” in Madhya Pradesh, India, which consists of the construction of 25 generators of 2 MW each to generate clean electricity from wind power.
